An Curious Case of the Hole in the Floor

It all began a humid/sunny/rainy afternoon when Mrs. Periwinkle, a woman known for her bright/vibrant/daring personality/demeanor/spirit, discovered/noticed/stumbled upon a peculiar/strange/odd hole in the floor of her living room.
